What Zentry Assistant is
Zentry Assistant is an AI agent offered by Zentry that handles the repetitive conversations every practice has dozens of times a day: “Are you open Saturday?”, “Do you take my insurance?”, “I need to reschedule”, “Can I get a copy of my invoice?”. It answers on your practice number, in your text threads and in a chat window on your website, using the knowledge and rules you approve.
It is customizable rather than generic. You decide what it knows (hours, locations, services, policies, intake questions), how it sounds (greeting, tone, languages), what it may do (answer, collect details, queue a request, transfer) and where it must stop and hand off to a person. Every answer it gives comes from that approved knowledge, not from the open internet.
Pre-trained for every vertical we serve
Zentry Assistant ships with a vertical template for each practice type ZentryVoice serves. A template is a starting set of intents, intake questions, vocabulary and guardrails written for that profession, so a dental office starts with recall, emergency and insurance-verification flows, and a law firm starts with new-matter intake and conflict-check details.
Because the hard part is already done, deployment means reviewing and editing a template, not training a model from scratch. You change the answers that are specific to you, switch off the flows you do not want, and test it on your own number before it ever speaks to a client or patient.
| Vertical | Starts with | Always handed to a person |
|---|---|---|
| Medical | Scheduling requests, refill requests, directions, forms, billing questions | Symptoms, clinical questions, anything that may be an emergency |
| Dental | Recall and hygiene booking, insurance details, new-patient intake | Dental pain, swelling, trauma, clinical advice |
| Law | New-matter intake, conflict-check details, consultation requests | Any request for legal advice, deadlines, existing-matter strategy |
| Financial | Meeting requests, document checklists, office logistics | Investment, tax or account-specific advice, trade or transfer requests |
How a conversation works
Every channel follows the same pattern, so behaviour is predictable and auditable.
- 1It greets and understandsThe caller, texter or website visitor says what they need in their own words; the assistant identifies the intent.
- 2It answers from approved knowledgeHours, locations, accepted plans, fees you publish and policies come only from the knowledge you have reviewed.
- 3It collects what staff needName, callback number, reason and the intake questions in your template, so nobody has to call back just to ask them.
- 4It queues or transfersAppointment and callback requests go to a staff queue to confirm; urgent or sensitive conversations transfer to a person or ring group immediately.
- 5Everything is on the timelineA transcript and summary land on the same contact timeline as calls, texts, voicemail and fax.
Guardrails and compliance
Zentry Assistant is designed to stay inside the lines regulated practices work within. It does not diagnose, give legal advice, or recommend investments, and those boundaries are built into every vertical template rather than left to a prompt. When a conversation crosses one, the assistant says so plainly and hands off to a person.
For medical and dental practices, conversations are protected health information and are covered by the same Business Associate Agreement countersigned at signup. For law firms and financial offices, transcripts are retained on the contact timeline so they can be kept with the matter or client record your rules require.
- Discloses that it is an automated assistant at the start of every conversation
- Answers only from knowledge your practice has approved
- Never books, cancels, prescribes, advises or moves money on its own; requests go to staff to confirm
- Escalation rules you set: keywords, topics, after-hours routing and a “talk to a person” option at any time
- Inbound conversations only; it does not place automated outbound calls
Pricing: $20 per user per month, per service
Zentry Assistant keeps the same promise as the rest of ZentryVoice: a flat $20 per user per month for the service, month-to-month, with no per-minute AI fees and no setup charge for the vertical template. A user is a staff member who works with the assistant: reviewing its queue, editing its knowledge or taking its handoffs.
It is its own service, so you can add it to a ZentryVoice phone system ($20 per seat) or start with the assistant alone and add phones later.
| Service | Price |
|---|---|
| ZentryVoice seat (extension, apps, voicemail, AI summaries, reporting) | $20 per user/mo |
| Zentry Assistant (AI agent for calls, texts and web chat) | $20 per user/mo |
| Vertical template and setup | Included |
Frequently asked questions
What is Zentry Assistant?
Zentry Assistant is a customizable AI agent from Zentry that answers routine calls, texts and website chats for medical, dental, legal and financial practices, collects intake details, queues requests for staff and hands sensitive or urgent conversations to a person.
How much does Zentry Assistant cost?
Zentry Assistant is $20 per user per month as its own service, month-to-month, with the vertical template and setup included and no per-minute AI fees.
What does “pre-trained” mean?
Each vertical template already contains the common intents, intake questions, vocabulary and guardrails for that profession, so you review and edit it instead of building an assistant from scratch.
Can Zentry Assistant give medical, legal or financial advice?
No. Advice, diagnosis, deadlines, investment and account-specific questions are always handed to a person; the assistant tells the caller that and transfers or takes a callback request.
Does it book appointments by itself?
It collects the details and the caller’s preferred times and places a request in a staff queue; your team confirms it. Nothing is booked, cancelled or changed without a person.
Do callers know they are talking to an AI?
Yes. Zentry Assistant identifies itself as an automated assistant at the start of every conversation and offers a person at any time.
Do I need a ZentryVoice phone system to use it?
No. It is a separate service; it works best alongside ZentryVoice numbers and extensions, but you can start with the assistant and add phones later.
